NO WAY OUT ... Barca have blocked Cesc exit
DAVID MOYES admits Manchester United may have to throw in the towel over Cesc Fabregas.
Barcelona have knocked back two bids from United already and Moyes is yet to green-light a third offer.
The Old Trafford boss said: “I couldn’t tell you if there will be another bid.
“Obviously we will take stock of it and consider what we are going to do next.
“I never at any time said I knew we would get him. I just said we had made offers.
“They have been rejected. We will take stock from there and decide where we go from there.”
United this week tabled a second package worth more than £30million for the former Arsenal hero.
That was kicked into touch by new boss Tata Martino who insisted no amount of money would prise Fabregas away.
But Moyes is not too downbeat. He added: “What we have here is a really good squad of players already.
“You mustn’t forget about the quality that is already here at Manchester United.”
Moyes insists he is still confident of working through his transfer wish-list — even if Fabregas stays in Spain.
He added: “Undoubtedly we are hoping to add to the squad.
“I am quite confident we will do, certainly before the window shuts.”
Meanwhile, Moyes played down fears that United’s clash with Kitchee FC in Hong Kong tomorrow could be called off.
The dreadful state of the pitch had raised concerns.
But Moyes said: “We are used to playing on good surfaces and pitches.
“But it was the weather that didn’t help. There was nothing the people in Hong Kong could do to make it any better.
“The weather was terrible for three or four days but it is drying out now, which might make it worse if it gets bobbly.
“We will play. The players have been brought up playing on all sorts of pitches.
“I take the point that nowadays, the quality of the surfaces tends to be very good.
“The ones in Japan were probably the best I have played on anywhere.”
